Why You Should Host Your Conference in California Wine Country

Matchbook Wine

A visit to California Wine Country always makes for a great getaway. While most people visit for pleasure, an increasing number are visiting for business. Napa Valley and Sonoma County are both popular spots for conferences, meetings, and other corporate events. But another wine country is emerging in California: Yolo County.

Yolo Wine Country offers everything its neighbors to the west do: conference centers, ample meeting space, and hotels with all the amenities. But it also offers something that Napa and Sonoma do not: smaller crowds, a slower pace, and rustic tasting rooms for after-hours pursuits. There are also a range of lodging options in Yolo County for your attendees to wind down after a busy day.

Yolo County offers every imaginable space for your conference or corporate event, ranging from modern spaces to rustic retreats. They have all the amenities you need in a conference space, including A/V systems, high-speed internet, and in some cases, catering and entertainment. Plus, you’ll be in the heart of one of the best wine-growing regions in the state. Even better, you can host your event at several wineries themselves. Options include the following:

Taber Ranch Winery & Event Center

Taber Ranch is a sprawling country estate in the beautiful Capay Valley. They offer both indoor and outdoor event space mid-April through October, with seating for up to 200 in their barn. They provide tables and chairs and can help arrange catering. Best of all, you can sample their estate-grown Syrah, Tempranillo, and Sauvignon Blanc.

The Old Sugar Mill

Located in Clarksburg, the Old Sugar Mill is a former sugar beet factory that has a variety of both indoor and outdoor spaces that can accommodate groups of all sizes. From conferences and retreats to fundraisers and meetings, the Old Sugar Mill partners with vendors to provide catering, A/V equipment, even entertainment. Plus, you can enjoy wine from the 14 onsite tasting rooms.
