The Story Behind “Capay Valley Grown”

Capay Valley Grown was launched in 2004 as a partnership among twenty-three farms and ranches that wanted to increase the marketability of their high-quality products. The members of this collective strive to sell a sense of place with their products: information that conveys value to buyers while creating awareness about farming, stewardship and quality. The members of Capay Valley Grown continue to connect with Yolo County and Northern California customers to provide maximum freshness, flavor and consumer confidence.

What is grown up here? Meat, dairy products, eggs, nuts and dried fruit, olive oil, honey and ham, fruits and vegetables of all kinds, herbs, flowers, and first-rate wines. A majority of the producers here are Certified Organic. A few farms engage in Community Supported Agriculture programs, providing delivery service of boxes of fresh produce ~ Farm Fresh To You is just one example.

Capay Valley Grown members also collaborate to promote the Capay Valley to visitors and customers; it’s an area where you are invited to taste, play, and experience our beautiful valley ~ through an event at one of the great event facilities here, arranging a tour at a member farm, or attending annual events like Hoes Down at Fully Belly Farm or the Almond Festival (always on the last weekend in February).
