Now in its 11th year, the annual event has all the makings of a classic holiday celebration: an illuminated parade, a tree lighting, holiday music, food, a holiday marketplace and of course, a visit from Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus. There’s even an elf hunt and a hot cocoa crawl.
Being that it’s a two-day event, you might want to consider making a weekend out of it. You can check out the lodging options in Winters and book an overnight stay so you won’t miss a thing!
The Tractor Parade is an homage to the city’s agricultural heritage. In 2015, several locals decided to decorate their tractors with Christmas lights and drive them through town. The idea caught on, and what began as six tractors chugging along Main Street has since expanded to dozens of illuminated and decorated tractors, fire engines, classic cars and trucks, and parade floats wowing onlookers.
The weekend event kicks off Friday, Dec. 5. You can stroll through Main Street, browse local shops, explore the works of local artisans and crafters, and sip at local tasting rooms. It’s a great day to pick up a special gift for a loved one (or yourself!)
Hungry? You can also get a bite to eat from one of the many local restaurants in Winters or hit up one of the food trucks for a grab-and-go option. From 4–7 p.m., local businesses will be hosting an elf hunt and cocoa crawl, and at 6 p.m., the tree lighting ceremony will begin. Afterwards, Santa and his friends will be welcoming visitors from 6:30–8:30.
Catch the Winters Tractor Parade
On Saturday, the festival runs from 1–9 p.m., with a holiday marketplace, food vendors, holiday music, and activities for the kids. The parade begins at 6 p.m., starting at Main Street and 4th Street, continuing along Main to Morgan Street. Santa and his friends will again be available for visits from 7–9 in the gazebo at Rotary Park.
