The Hoes Down Harvest Festival is a weekend-long festival and fundraiser focused on educating people first-hand about the positive impacts of farming. At Hoes Down, guests experience activities like pruning trees, milking a cow, making compost and seasonal cooking. They eat local organic food and dance to the tunes of bluegrass and contra dance with one another. There is always a children’s area that keeps even the littlest guests engaged for the whole weekend. Hoes Down is also a fundraiser and for over 30 years, has generated valuable resources for local and statewide organizations working on projects which benefit sustainable agriculture and rural communities.
