Dinner on the Arch In Rumsey

August 24, 2024 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Price $125

Dinner on the Arch; a fundraiser and benefit dinner on top of the historic Rumsey Bridge

Located in the beautiful Capay Valley, just off Highway 16, the purpose of this benefit dinner is intended for the preservation of Camp Haswell; the old Boy Scout Camp & Cabin. Located in the small village of Rumsey, CA, just two miles north of the bridge; this historic space was condemned in 2024, after being purchased by Yolo County, and is set to be demolished sometime in 2025. The main goal of the benefit is to raise monetary means to accomplish two tasks. First, the existing cabin roof is completely deteriorated, and needs to be replaced. Second, at the request of the county, a perimeter fence needs to be built around it, in order to keep out unwanted visitors and/or campers. This fence will also serve as a safety net Through the help of our sponsors, our mighty community and the support from key, distinguished local organizations; we’re confident this benefit dinner event will help preserve Camp Haswell and cement its historical value within the Capay Valley for years to come. With an abundance of changes and positive growth transforming the current landscape of Capay Valley and the small communities within it; we feel this project is crucial to preserving our local history, for our community and its many visitors year round.
