The cherished tradition of honoring the abundant almond harvest in the Capay Valley, now in its 111th year, is set to return February 21 & 22, 2026.
This year’s event will feature all the activities you know and love, taking place on Sunday. In addition, we’re excited to revive the “Music in the Park” event on Saturday in Esparto, where the newly crowned Almond Queen will be showcased, along with delicious food and lively music at the park. It’s sure to be a fantastic weekend! Click here for a complete listings of events throughout the Capay Valley.
The inaugural Almond Festival took place in October 1915 to celebrate the almond harvest. The two-day affair kicked off with a parade on Saturday and continued into Sunday with a host of traditional festival festivities. The homecoming queen was crowned as the Almond Queen, taking center stage in the parade. The festival was temporarily paused during WWII, likely to conserve resources, but was revived in 1964 thanks to the efforts of the newly established Chamber of Commerce, which moved it to the last Sunday in February. Since then, we have joyfully celebrated the almond blossom at the Almond Festival.
