Held on a real working organic farm in the heart of Capay Valley, Hoes Down is one of Northern California’s most beloved rural traditions—a joyful celebration of music, sustainable living, hands-on learning, and community connection.
From farm tours and hands-on activities to square dancing, local organic food, and camping beneath the walnut orchard—Hoes Down is a place where transformation happens. Kids discover the magic of farm life, old friends reunite, and new generations are inspired.
Since its founding, Hoes Down has been more than a festival. It is a fundraiser for sustainable agriculture, rural life, and community resilience. Last year, the festival raised nearly $100,000 for organizations working to strengthen agriculture, education, and rural communities.
