We can’t make any promises you won’t get lost in beer-muda but we can promise you’ll be cheering to good times as you savor your favorite hand-crafted microbrew beer found in Yolo County’s three principle cities of Davis, Woodland, and Winters. And although you can definitely drive, you might want to consider bicycling your way from one location to the next and savoring your favorite suds as you go.
First stop – Sudwerk Brewery Company in Davis, one of the most popular and successful microbrew operations in Northern California. Sudwerk produces award-winning Pilsner, Marzen, Hefe Weizen and Lager, as well as a changing lineup of seasonal brews. Think Oatmeal Stout, a Mai Bock (their signature IPA) and Dunkel Weizen. The Dock is their family and dog friendly neighborhood hub and has a laid-back local vibe. They frequently host live music, fundraisers, food trucks and community events.
Next, hit up the Blue Note Brewing Company in Downtown Woodland. Considered an artisan NANO-brewery due to their 6-barrel system that ensures every beer is literally hand crafted. And with twelve beers on tap, you’re sure to find a favorite, maybe even discover you like something unexpected, like their lavender ale or blood orange imperial 2x IPA. Plus, they have food truck events galore.
Still thirsty for more? Of course, you are! Head to downtown Winters and hit up Hooby’s Brewing. A family owned and operated brewery, they have a chill atmosphere perfect for family gatherings and date nights. Besides having some quenching beers on tap, they also serve some tasty bites and our known for their savory house waffles. Then as you head out of town, towards the southwest on the outskirts of historic Winters, you’ll find the Berryessa Brewing Company, a 20-barrel craft brewery with a rotating tap and seasonal selections. This family-friendly brewery has indoor and outdoor seating and features food trucks and live music on a regular basis.
The Beer-Muda Triangle is a great place to get lost but be sure to check out all the Breweries and Taprooms to make sure you find your favorite pint! And you might need a place to stay after all that wandering (and drinking), so find the perfect place to lay your head at one of Yolo County’s many options.
