The Soul of Nature is a collaborative venture by artists and friends Peter London and
P. Gregory Guss. Their exploration of the inner soul of nature itself originates in the idea that external appearances do not match or determine internal ones. Taking inspiration from the beauty of trees, leaves, water, and other parts of our environment, Guss and London have paired their work, creating connections between their aesthetic visions. Guss works in digital photography creating photo-paintings with multi-layered images, attending to the internal expressions, he finds connection with the plethora of texture, forms and colors. London uses oil bar on paper, which can be easily blended or used as a graphic tool to draw lines and shapes. Passages of colored light seem to dance in his paintings, punctuated by active gestures marking the surface.
