Yolo Basin Foundation invites you to get outside and explore the wildlife of our local wetlands! Knowledgeable docents will provide an overview of the wetland habitats in the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area as well as information about the plants and animals that call it home. Spotting scopes will allow the group a close-up look to observe and identify wildlife. These monthly tours are family friendly, and appropriate for all levels of outdoor enthusiasts and wildlife-lovers!
The guided tour of the Yolo Bypass Wildlife Area will be held on Saturday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. The group will caravan along the auto-tour loop among seasonal and permanent wetland areas. This driving tour is on gravel roads with several stops and optional, short walks. Participants should bring their own water as there is no potable water on-site. Loaner binoculars will be available. To join the tour, meet the tour leaders a few minutes before 9 a.m. in Parking Lot A, the first parking lot, of the Wildlife Area. No registration is needed. More information about the tour and directions to the starting location are available on Yolo Basin Foundation’s website at www.yolobasin.org.
