Dinner on Main, the City of Woodland, and Woodland’s food and agriculture partners invite our community to celebrate its growers, ranchers, and farmworkers – the faces of Woodland’s The Food Front – at the Yolo Growers & Farmworkers
With over 190 food and ag businesses in Woodland, local growers and farmworkers not only feed the community but also play a key role in the regional, national, and global supply chain. Woodland is proud to host this first-of-its-kind family-friendly event within our region to
boost awareness of and appreciation for our food and ag industry’s workforce.
On June 24, 2022 from 5 – 9 PM, Downtown Woodland will feature festive live music from three local bands: Banda La Octava Maravilla, Grupo Belico, and Tamborazo Dinastía de Woodland, as well as tracks from DJ. OJ. Dancing horses, located in front of the stage at First
and Main, will provide unique family-friendly entertainment in addition to a professional trick roper that will appear throughout the evening. Health care and food security resources will be available from Communicare, Yolo County, Yolo Food Bank, and other local organizations.
This Festival is made possible thanks to its primary financial sponsors, Visit Yolo and Experience Woodland, in addition to key local business sponsors: Grow West, Raley’s, Yolo Eats, La Tourangelle, Pacific Coast Producers, ASL Productions, and My Cali Designs.
Through product donation from Woodland food businesses, limited quantities of Cobram Estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be gifted to Festival participants upon purchase at Haven a Boutique, Embellish Décor, Jami Ray Boutique, and Little Chances. 1,000 free water bottles will be available to festival attendees thanks to Nugget Markets and Food 4 Less.
In addition to the concert and festivities, two parallel initiatives have been organized as part of the Festival’s mission to provide direct support to farmworkers and their families. Through American Rescue Plan funding, Yolo County granted $4,000 to distribute to 200 Woodland farmworkers in the form of meal vouchers, redeemable at participating Downtown Woodland restaurants during the day of the Festival. As an additional gesture of appreciation, Yolo Food Bank will donate fresh produce and other food staples to at least 500 Yolo County farmworkers. This food distribution will take place at two Yolo County farms in the weeks after the Festival.
The City of Woodland looks forward to welcoming our region to the heart of Downtown Woodland for a unique Festival experience amongst its local restaurants and shops. Learn more at: www.growersworkersfest.org
