Davis Art Center

Found in the heart of Davis, the Davis Art Center is home to the Tsao Gallery, a hub of artistic creation geared toward supporting and developing community involvement in the arts. John Natsoulas Gallery

With its giant cat and dog sculptures in front, the John Natsoulas Gallery stands as a colorful and whimsical gateway to Davis as you head into downtown from I-80. The spacious gallery features top-notch exhibits and a host of art-related events including the Jazz and Beat Festival and a statewide ceramics conference that takes over downtown Davis every spring. Pence Gallery

The Pence Gallery is a community-oriented art gallery housed in a funky, colorful building in downtown Davis. Along with seasonal events, auctions and side-walk sales, the Pence displays twelve museum-caliber exhibitions each year by visual artists living and working in the Sacramento Valley and greater Bay Area. Gallery 625

Managed by YoloArts, downtown Woodland’s Gallery 625 exhibits a diverse selection of artistic mediums made by both amateur and professional artists. Blue Wing Gallery

Named after the painting “Blue Wing Teal” by waterfowl artist Harry C. Adamson, the Blue Wing Gallery can be found in a brick-adorned building on Main Street in historic downtown Woodland. Manetti Shrem Museum

Opened in 2016, the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art is a hub of creative practice showcasing artistic contributions by artists across the globe, including UC Davis’s own renowned art faculty. Carl Gorman Museum

The Design Museum

Second Friday ArtAbout

The downtown Davis ArtAbout is a free, self-guided art-walk where you can view and attend art installations and receptions at galleries, art co-ops, and businesses in downtown Davis. First Friday Art Walk

Every first Friday of the month, historic downtown Woodland hosts a free, self-guided art walk featuring art, live music, entertainment, and children’s activities. 2nd Saturday Art Walk at Old Sugar Mill Wineries 

Second Saturdays are held monthly at the Old Sugar Mill, featuring art from invited artists throughout the property’s thirteen unique wine tasting rooms. Experience art of all mediums – watercolor and oil paintings, reclaimed and upcycled materials, wood, sculpture, jewelry and more – all while tasting some of Yolo County’s finest wines.

 

Outdoor Quilt & Textile Art Festival

In the summer, head over to historic downtown Winters to explore the Outdoor Quilt & Textile Art Festival where you can see the best of locally and regionally produced quilts and other textiles. California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art (CCACA)

The Art of Painting  

The Art of Painting, an annual event hosted by the John Natsoulas Gallery, gathers artists of all skill levels from across the Northern California region to interact and engage in discussion about the tradition of painting. Davis Beat & Jazz Festival

In the fall, the John Natsoulas Gallery hosts the annual Davis Beat & Jazz Festival in downtown Davis. Enjoy live poetry readings, art improvisations, and of course, captivating live jazz music. Davis Transmedia ArtWalk

The first of its kind, follow along the Transmedia Artwalk in the city of Davis and the UC Davis campus to see inspiring public art such as outdoor sculptures, murals, transformative works, and other unique art forms. UC Davis Outdoor Sculptures

Over the years, the UC Davis campus has accumulated an impressive array of outdoor sculptures, created by UCD faculty, students and independent artists alike.
