Drive through Yolo County this time of year and you’ll view acres upon acres of almond trees with their white blooms beaming back at you. Visitors travel from all over to view and photograph the Yolo County Almond bloom, although they’re more than just a stunning Instagram moment. In fact, Yolo County locals have been celebrating the blooms and the impact on our economy for 107 years with the annual Capay Valley Almond Festival.

Visit Yolo wants to help you get the most out of your visit to our beautiful and dynamic area. With much more to see and do than just view the almond blooms, this page is designed to encourage you to take in a little more of Yolo County’s “bounty” and visit safely and respectfully. We have compiled some great suggestions on where and how to capture that photo, experience our wine/beer/spirits/craft food offerings, diverse farm-to-fork and culinary options, outdoor adventures and, of course, comfortable lodging.

Our expansive authentic experiences are home grown, rooted in our farms and fields and blossom out to our cities. From farm to family–a visit here will make you an honorary local.

Capay Valley Almond Festival

The Capay Valley Almond Festival, in the towns of Rumsey, Guinda, Brooks, Capay and Esparto along Highway 16, is a one-of-a-kind five town festival traversing a 21-mile route, with each location offering different activities and a unique atmosphere all celebrating the almond bloom in Yolo County. In fact, it is the only five town festival in California!

This year marks the 107th year of the festival and will be a two-day event starting Saturday February 26th at 11:00 AM with a parade in Esparto. Following the parade will be music in the park, a bake-off contest featuring recipes that include almonds as an ingredient, and of course, food!

Sunday February 27th at 8:00 AM the usual Almond Festival festivities including activities at Seka Hills Olive Mill & Tasting Room, Capay Valley Lavender, Taber Ranch, Capay Valley Vineyards and many more!

Every town up the valley will be offering their own twist on the Almond Festival, so you will want to be sure to grab a festival map so you won’t miss a thing!
